Clubhouse Completed

The clubhouse is now completed and ready for our owner’s use. In addition to a full size handicap accessible restroom the clubhouse includes cold drinks, coffee, a small kitchen, cable TV and internet access. The area is accessible by entering a the access code on the keypad. As an owner if you have not yet received a code please give me a call at 419-351-4752.

Loft Installation

Here are Kevin and Mark installing a loft for one of our customers. Stan our plumber appears to to supervising with hammer in hand.

What you see is the shell. We install recessed lighting under the loft and in a couple of days we will drywall and paint the underside and railings. With a 16′ ceiling height and 2 x 12 floor joists this leaves 7 1/2′ above and below or any other dimensions you would prefer.

Notice the inset stairs works well with the future full restroom under the stair’s landing. By code the loft can be 1/3 of the units S.F. In and 45′ deep unit the loft can come out 15′.

Partition Walls

Concrete Testing

On April 20 and 21 we finally able to place the concrete floors after what seemed like a long winter. In the attached photo you see Tony Periat from Bowser Morner testing the quality of the concrete. As the floors are being placed Tony takes periodic samples of the concrete and makes 6″ cylinders which are cured and then compression tested after 7 days and 28 days to assure the concrete reaches the 4000 psi strength.

Under Your Floor

Huron April (2)The floors are ready for concrete. Here you can see the radiant tubing tied to the wire mesh which is on top of 2″ of insulation and a 6 mil plastic vapor barrier. Radiant floor heat is not only the most comfortable but is also the most efficient!

Looks like we are on schedule for a June 1st move in date! Our customers can’t wait!

Radiant Floor Heat!

That’s right… for all of you who enjoy working on your toys till it’s time for summer fun… our project in Huron, Ohio will have radiant floor heat!

We are currently going through the extensive preparation process which includes grading and compaction of the site. We will provide a 3″ slope to the floor of your unit from the back to the front for any water to flow right out.

When this process is complete we will have your floor graded to within a +/- 1/8 of an inch. The process continues with a 6 mil layer of heavy plastic sheeting, a 2″ layer of blue board insulation and a wire mesh that will be tied together and laid on top of that.
The tubing to individually heat the floor of each unit will then be placed on the wire mesh.

At the time of the concrete installation, we will have a professional testing organization insure its quality.

Update to Huron Sandusky Location – March 2010.

Spring is officially here and plans for landscaping at our Huron/Sandusky project are currently being developed. As soon as weather permits, a decorative wrought iron fence will be installed along Cleveland Road and planting will begin softening the northern border of our project with grass, shade trees, a picnic table and flowering shrubs. A security vehicle gate as well as two pedestrian gates will be installed as soon as the black top is installed. The pedestrian gates will give all owners access to our Club House, a comfortable lounge area with cable TV, internet, snacks and a restroom.

Update to Huron/Sandusky location

We’ve been making great progress on our latest StorageCondos project in Huron/Sandusky. Site-work began late in the summer of 2010 which included among other things a retention pond, sub soil compaction and a stone base to ODOT standards, under pavement drainage system which included underground drains for the buildings gutters and downspouts, underground service of water, sewer, gas, electric, and cable and the buildings underground water and sewer service.

Each of the units have water, sewer, electric and internet service as well as security.

Construction of StorageCondos’ first of two buildings which includes an owners clubhouse on the site began in late fall and the shell was complete by December of 2010. Since then commercial garage doors and commercial electric openers have been installed. The garage door openers each come with their own key fab opener as well as a keyless opener mounted next to each door for secondary access to your unit. Crews are currently installing security system wiring and electric service throughout the first building.

In addition, StorageCondos is committed to building a “super-insulated” structure and crews have been carefully sealing and insulating the structure to achieve this standard and prepare for the in-floor radiant heating system which will be installed this spring.

Over half of the building’s units have been reserved for purchase, their deposits have been escrowed and we are anxious to finish this first building for our owners.
